Dining
Majapahit Beach Villas offers a fixed price menu of Western and Asian specialties, including Indonesian, Japanese, and vegetarian dishes, plus a special menu for juniors with options such as hot dogs, mini chicken burgers, chicken nuggets, spaghetti with tomato sauce and fish & chips. Also available is a choice of set menus (perfect for groups), plus an Indonesian barbecue dinner, a Western barbecue dinner, and a seafood barbecue dinner. The chef is able to adapt the menu to cater for special dietary requirements.
Japanese specialties include sashimi and sushi sets and tempura platter; the vegetarian menu offers tofu and bean-cake curry, vegetable tagine and pasta, while the Indonesian menu is a good opportunity to try local favourites such as ayam bakar taliwang – traditional grilled chicken with chilli and shrimp paste sauce, sate lilit daging sapi – grilled spiced minced beef satay on lemongrass skewers, or Bali’s famous delicacy, babi guling – a slow-cooked spit-roasted pig stuffed with aromatic leaves, onion, garlic and peppercorns, and brushed with crushed turmeric. Western dishes include salmon with cream basil sauce, lamb chop with honey mint jus, and Sirloin steak with black peppercorn sauce. The dessert menu tempts with chocolate mousse, caramelised banana, and tiramisu.
Being so close to the coast, fresh seafood is usually easy to source (good squid and prawns as well as fish and small lobsters). There is also a full menu of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks including a wine selection.
